Day 1 · Marrakech → High Atlas → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate
Cross the High Atlas with stops for mountain views and a visit to Ait Ben Haddou. Continue to Ouarzazate for a quieter evening. The overnight stop breaks up the journey before heading further into southern Morocco.
Day 2 · Ouarzazate → Skoura → Dades Valley
Travel through the palm oasis of Skoura and the landscapes around the Valley of Roses. Continue into the Dades Valley, with time for local scenery and short walks. The pace can be adjusted to your interests.
Day 3 · Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga
Follow the valley roads towards Tinghir and walk beneath the high cliffs of Todra Gorge. Continue to Merzouga, where the first dunes of Erg Chebbi appear. Settle into your desert arrangements and enjoy the changing light near sunset.
Day 4 · A full day around Merzouga
Keep a full day for the Sahara region rather than another long transfer. Explore the villages and landscapes around Erg Chebbi, with time for local music or a guided desert excursion. Camel riding and a camp stay can be arranged according to your preferences.
Day 5 · Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Middle Atlas → Fes
Travel north past the palms of the Ziz Valley, then cross the Middle Atlas towards Ifrane and Fes. This is a long travel day with breaks along the way. Arrive in Fes in the evening.
